| I have played the saxophone for over twenty years, beginning in concert bands and jazz bands, and with private lessons. Flute was a natural progression for my fingers, and I was told that I have a perfect embouchure for the instrument. I do not consider myself a flutist, but my skills allow me to double. I also pretend to sing and play the piano, cello, and clarinet. I collect musical instruments, and I enjoy making music in unorthodox ways.
Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington, provided me with a great education and set of experiences, and a bachelors degree in Music Composition. I continue to write music in some of my groups and solo ventures. I have performed in several groups throughout my life, including such styles as jazz, classical, marching, dixieland, funk, rock, Latin, reggae, afrobeat, punk, and ska. I also perform solo gigs in and around the poetry community. |
